Ashlyn is a professional dog trainer serving Chapel Hill, North Carolina, bringing years of hands-on animal experience and a relationship-based training approach to local dog owners.
At home and outside, Ashlyn grew up with dogs. She was fortunate to see both their loving, cuddly side at home and their protective, working side on the family farm. In a quest to further her understanding of animals, Ashlyn studied animal psychology in graduate school. There, she found a passion for canine training and behavior.
Since then, Ashlyn has applied her knowledge in teaching pet dogs and their humans how to live harmoniously through training and play. She has extensive hands-on experience with basic & advanced obedience, sport & competition training, reactivity & aggression, personal protection work, and more.
Ashlyn considers herself a ‘forever student’ and continuously improves her craft and learns from fellow dog trainers and industry experts. She currently trains and competes with her dogs in PSA, an obedience and protection dog sport.

BOARD & TRAIN
Our most popular program offers extensive, in-depth training for your dog. The Board & Train program at Haven Dog Training has your dog stay at our trainers’ house. You get peace of mind, trainer supervision, and your dog is comfortable in a space that mimics familiar places. This is an excellent option if you don’t have enough time to spend training your dog on your own.
PRIVATE TRAINING
Sometimes, the training a dog needs for the best support possible is 1-on-1 training. We will work with you individually to demonstrate how you can train your dog to follow basic commands. This program includes 4 hour-long sessions and is best for humans who have enough time to spend on continuous training with their dogs even after the completion of the program.
PUPPY TRAINING
Puppies! It’s easy to get carried away by their adorable antics but a trained puppy is a happy puppy! This program trains your puppy to learn basic, important commands and also offers socialization opportunities. This 15-day program will give you the foundation you need to build a healthy, happy relationship with your puppy as they mature.
